COMMUNITY WORKSHOP AND LIBRARY TOUR
Wednesday, October 29, 2025 6:00-8:00 PM
Burbank Central Library

A future Burbank Central Library and Public Plaza project is being proposed as a transformative opportunity to meet community needs while building a thriving downtown neighborhood in a sustainable and fiscally responsible way. The project proposes a new vibrant public plaza and improved Central Library, and replaces the Administrative Services Building offices in downtown Burbank.

The City of Burbank has been awarded a grant of $9.95 million from the California State Library to fund a new, modern Central Library. The funds will be put towards building features that support sustainability, accessibility, and resilience.

A prospective new library would replace the current space, a 60-year-old building that is limited by its age and condition in supporting the Burbank community’s needs in education, workforce development, social services, technology training, and access to information and culture.

Planning for a future new Burbank Central Library and Public Plaza is underway with community outreach beginning in October 2025.
