Zonta Club of Burbank Area is thrilled to host an exclusive screening of the new documentary, SCARS UNSEEN, at the Colony Theatre in Burbank on Thursday, October 10th at 6 p.m. SCARS UNSEEN is an inspiring new film highlighting three women who overcame domestic violence and are paying it forward. Amidst the pandemic’s surge in domestic violence, it focuses on their healing journeys, tools for resilience, and aims to de-stigmatize victimhood, encourage open dialogue, and change the conversation around abuse. The director, Meredith Yinger, and film subject Trish Steele, founder of Safe Passage Heals, will attend and participate in a Q&A following the screening.

This film includes discussions of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and suicide. While the filmmakers have done their best to explore these topics conscientiously, remember that we are looking through the lens of a few people’s experiences. Please take care of yourself as you watch and find support if you are struggling with these topics.
