SUMMARY:Animation Guild & the SuperHero Project TEAM UP  (April 4 Opening Reception)
DESCRIPTION:TAG animation artists from favorite TV shows and movies have created posters of superhero personas for youth from Ronald McDonald House Pasadena\, Gigi’s Playhouse in Orange County\, and other organizations around the U.S. and U.K. These superhero depictions are based on interviews with kids and teens impacted by illnesses and disabilities about who they are beyond their diagnosis and how they want to make a positive difference in the world—their superhero mission. The result is a visual representation of their strength\, courage\, creativity\, and resilience. Many of the families and artists who participated in the project will be in attendance. \nWhen: Thursday\, April 4\, 2024\, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PST (Opening Reception)\nNo RSVP necessary for opening night. The City’s Burbank Cultural Arts Commission is excited announce its partnership with Visit Burbank by sponsoring an elephant to be painted and displayed. \nArtists will be selected through a competitive process.\nSubmissions will be reviewed by the Burbank Cultural Arts Commission\, Visit Burbank\, and Elephant Parade International. \nArtist will receive a stipend of $2\,500. Members receive priority.\nIf you are not a member\, you can join. We are a nonprofit. Your membership fee is tax deductible\, and you keep 100% of your sales. \nNo fee to apply\nHanging fee is $25 for up to two pieces; 2nd piece depends on space.\nMembership or one time participation fee after acceptance into the show required.\nLocal drop off ONLY Non-members\, if accepted\, must become a member or pay a one-time participation fee of $40 (it’s only $10 more for a one-year membership). \nAll art must be wired to hang. No sawtooth. Maximum size approximately 24″ x 36.” A little bigger in one direction is OK.\nThis is a public space.
