SUMMARY:Catch Me if You Can: The Musical
DESCRIPTION:CATCH ME IF YOU CAN: THE MUSICAL\nMUSIC BY MARC SHAIMAN\nBOOK BY TERRENCE McNALLY\nLYRICS BY SCOTT WITTMAN AND MARC SHAIMAN \nBASED ON THE DREAMWORKS MOTION PICTURE\nDIRECTED BY MICHAEL DONOVAN \nSEPTEMBER 17 – OCTOBER 18 \nThe Colony Theatre (Heather Provost\, Producing Artistic Director) has announced a new production of Catch Me If You Can\, the musical\, in 2026. With music by Marc Shaiman\, book by Terrence McNally\, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman\, ten-time Artios Award-winner Michael Donovan\, director of The Colony’s smash hit The Wedding Singer this past summer\, is set to direct. The original Broadway production of Catch Me If You Can ran in 2011\, receiving four Tony Award nominations including Best Musical and winning one (Best Leading Actor in a Musical for Norbert Leo Butz). \nBased on the hit DreamWorks motion picture and the incredible true story that inspired it\, Catch Me If You Can is a high-flying\, splashy Broadway musical that tells the story of Frank W. Abagnale\, Jr.\, who runs away from home in search of the glamorous life. With nothing more than his boyish charm\, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks\, Frank successfully poses as a pilot\, a doctor\, and a lawyer – living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. But when Frank’s lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty\, Carl chases Frank to the end … and finds something he never expected.

SUMMARY:BLCAC October Exhibit - Eric Renard Photography - L.A. Overexposed
DESCRIPTION:The Opening Reception is on Friday\, October 2\, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm\, and will include music and light refreshments. \nEric M. Renard is a Los Angeles based fine art photographer and one of California’s leading contemporary artists. His passion for photography was ignited at Tufts University in Boston\, where he studied photography under Siegfried Halus. After graduating\, Eric worked as an architectural/real estate photographer in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles\, where he works as a Creative Director for advertising. \nHis most recent solo show “Retrospective Hindsight” invited viewers to embark on a twenty five year journey through the evolution of his distinctive style. This exhibition was not just a collection of photographs. It was a narrative capturing the essence of transformation\, introspection\, and the pursuit of creativity.\n“Retrospective Hindsight” embodied a reflection on the past and a lens into the future. The exhibition showcased a carefully curated selection of work spanning two decades and illustrating the artist’s growth and shifts in style\, technique\, and thematic focus. From the early days of experimentation to the refinement of a distinctive voice\, each piece tells its own story while contributing to the overarching narrative of evolution through current work. \nEric has also curated several photography exhibitions including\, Photography Unveiled in April 2026\, the Black White Captures of the World exhibition\, which included photographers from Argentina\, Belgium\, Ecuador\, France\, Germany\, Greece\, Hong Kong\, Indonesia\, Iran\, Mexico\, Netherlands\, Poland\, Portugal\, Spain\, the UK and across the United States. This very unique exhibition showcased some of today’s best photographers from across the globe and was displayed at both The Artists Gallery in Los Angeles in 2024 and OC Camera on 2025. \nEric M. Renard’s previous exhibitions “Slice of Light”\, “Nobody Walks in L.A.”\, “Soul of a City” and “Urbanity in Black and White” focused on high contrast\, urban cityscapes\, reflecting an eerie sense of peace and tranquility. The cityscape is the hero in these exhibitions\, with the people subject to the power of their surroundings. \nThe “Nobody Walks in L.A.” 2023 solo exhibition ran at the Sasse Museum of Art in Pomona. The song “Walking in L.A.” by the new wave band Missing Persons\, poked fun at Los Angeles in 1982 for its dependence on cars with the refrain — “Nobody Walks in L.A.”. Forty years later\, the world still thinks we don’t walk but we do and we also saunter\, stroll\, and strut our stuff on bikes and scooters wherever we go. In this series of images we explore the unique architecture of Los Angeles\, some of it loved\, some of it hated and some of it completely unnoticed. \nEric M. Renard’s photography has found its way into art galleries in London\, Paris\, Barcelona\, Budapest\, Athens\, Mexico\, Brazil\, New York\, Texas\, Oregon\, Minnesota\, Rhode Island\, Vermont\, Virginia\, Connecticut and across California. His photography has received numerous Best of Show awards and has been published in both books and photography magazines\, including the cover of Black & White magazine. \nHe is co-president of The Artists Gallery in Los Angeles\, the Exhibition Chair for the California Art League\, and on the Board of Directors for the SFVACC

SUMMARY:Burbank Diamond Walk: Quaternity of Wholeness
DESCRIPTION:“Burbank Diamond Walk: Quaternity of Wholeness” is a site-specific\, durational performance activating four symbolic locations in a single afternoon — the personal\, the communal\, the corporate\, and the civic. The walk is built on the sacred number four: four cardinal directions\, four elements\, four stages of transformation\, four aspects of self. Together these points form a diamond\, a figure of clarity and multidimensional light\, drawn into the streets of Burbank and closed by returning to where it began. \nYozmit performs in ceremonial BodyMask — sculptural garments made from her own printed fabric\, YOZMITOILE. The costume obscures personal identity so the figure can carry something larger: an archetype\, a totem\, a presence the city can respond to. \nThe Path\nI. Vickroy Park — the personal — 4:00–4:30\nII. Magnolia Park — the communal — 4:45–5:15 Magnolia Boulevard at Porto’s Bakery\nIII. Disney Studios gate — the corporate — 5:30–6:00\nIV. City Hall — the civic — 6:15–6:45\nReturn to Vickroy Park — completion — 7:00 \nThe event is free\, but RSVPS are encouraged for event communications. Specific meeting points for each site will be posted here the week of October 30. \nHow to take part\nCome to any one site\, or follow the whole path by car. You are welcome to watch\, photograph\, or walk alongside. Arriving at a single site is a complete experience — you do not need to see all four. The performance is silent and contemplative; there is nothing you need to do but be present. \nAbout the artist\nYozmit The DogStar is a performance artist\, singer-songwriter\, and designer whose work fuses ritual\, visual art\, fashion\, and shamanism. Born in Korea and originally trained in fashion\, she turned to performance as a practice of transformation and self-authorship. She is a 2025 COLA Master Artist Fellow\, a California Arts Council Fellow\, and a West Hollywood Transgender Initiative grantee\, and has performed at MoMA with Marina Abramović\, at Coachella\, at Vienna’s Life Ball\, and at the Queens Museum. \nWALK began in New York City in 2008 and has since moved through twenty-four cities worldwide\, among them the Berlin Wall\, the Stonewall Inn\, and Google’s Quantum AI Seminar. This is WALK N°25. Her mantra\, DoYou\, is a call to walk one’s own path. \nThis program is supported in part by a Community Arts Grant from the City of Burbank.

SUMMARY:"The Angels" - Page to Stage at the Victory Theatre Center
DESCRIPTION:Los Angeles\, 1831. Arturo is a lisping\, art-obsessed aspiring academic\, freshly back from Spain. He returns home with the new governor\, Don Rubio: blond\, pompous and set on bringing back the Inquisition. Arturo’s friends try to shield him\, but Don Rubio’s cruelty keeps growing. \nThe people of the pueblo have to decide whether they’ll stand up together. Presented as a long-lost Californio verse comedy modeled on Lope de Vega’s Fuenteovejuna\, The Angels is bawdy\, rhyming\, outrageous fun\, and a rallying cry that “angels come in every form.”
