DESCRIPTION:The work put in at a DIG Burbank event is a rewarding service in which anyone may participate. You may choose to volunteer as an individual or join with others as part of an organization. Volunteers are assigned to various parks and will engage in activities such as litter clean-up\, weeding\, and planting to name a few.  \nFor this event\, we are planning on planting 10+ trees at Johnny Carson Park. Please bring your own gloves and shovels\, if you have them\, as we only have a limited supply. \nAlthough online registration is preferred\, you may also participate in this DIG Burbank event as a “walk-up” volunteer on-site. Must be 12+ years of age to register online. Email bvp@burbankca.gov to register under-aged participants. \nDIG is an amazing opportunity for families\, community groups\, and organizations to build networks and impact our parks\, so sign up TODAY! The investment we make in our neighborhood and community parks is truly an investment in community. \nIf time allows we will also assist the landscape crew with some weed abatement.

The project proposes a new vibrant public plaza and improved Central Library\, and replaces the Administrative Services Building offices in downtown Burbank. \nThe City of Burbank has been awarded a grant of $9.95 million from the California State Library to fund a new\, modern Central Library. DESCRIPTION:Register Here\nhttps://burbankca.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_3DYYagegTLShFuU03dTV3g#/registration \n—- \nThe City of Burbank Announces Upcoming Application Period for Community Arts Grant \nBurbank\, CA (September 5\, 2025) – The Burbank Parks and Recreation Department\, in collaboration with the Burbank Cultural Arts Commission\, is pleased to announce the third year of the Community Arts Grant Program\, designed to support local artists and non-profit arts organizations\, while actively engaging Burbank residents with diverse and outstanding cultural arts projects. \nGrants from $1\,000 – $5\,000 are available to artists and non-profit art organizations intended to support visual and performing arts projects that encourage and provide access to the arts for all members of the community. Eligible applications and projects should: \n·     Expand public access to the arts and build awareness and appreciation for the art form presented.\n·     Educate\, entertain\, and inspire participants and thoughtfully engage residents\, businesses\, artists\, and visitors.\n·     Offer a wide range of perspectives and reflect our community’s rich cultural diversity. \nThis opportunity is open to individual professional artists and non-profit arts organizations located in Los Angeles County. The grant recipients’ proposed projects must be completed in Burbank and serve Burbank residents\, businesses\, and visitors directly. Preference will be given to artists and organizations currently based in Burbank. Feedback from applicants\, grantees\, and the community over the first two grant cycles has been overwhelmingly positive. It is a fast-paced\, impactful storytelling format in which each presenter has 6 minutes and 40 seconds to tell their story. The format uses 20 slides\, with each slide shown for 20 seconds. The visual slides are included to enhance and support your narrative\, creating a more immersive experience for the audience. The Pecha Kucha format makes storytelling accessible\, engaging\, and memorable for an audience while challenging presenters to be concise\, focused and imaginative. You can use PowerPoint\, Canva\, Google Slides or Keynote to create presentation.   \nSubmission Deadline Sunday\, Sept. 14\, 2025. You do not need to be a Burbank resident to submit.
