Irina Gharibyan
Ballerina/Artist

Can you tell us a little bit about what you do? I’m a professional ballerina; I express art through movement. My goal is to make people who watch me dance feel different emotions throughout the ballet that’s being presented, as that is the meaning of art, to watch or look at something beautiful and relate to it in some way.

How did you first become interested in dance? The love my mother had towards the art form made me try it out.

How does art enrich a community, and what are some ways people can engage with art in Burbank? Throughout human history finding beauty in certain things has been the drive to create art and share it with the world. When you share something, anything, it brings people together. I believe as a community we need to promote it as much as possible and show appreciation for it. That way our upcoming generation can see, learn from it, and carry the legacy.

If you could share with our community one thing about art, what would it be? Art keeps your soul alive, your imagination alive, especially in the day and age we live in where everything seems to be digital and there is very limited space for creativity.
