Christian Bladt
Producer/Host
Can you tell us a little bit about what you do?
I produce and host a variety of podcasts for multiple networks with audiences around the world, some of which feature cohosts in or around Burbank.
How did you first become interested in art?
Growing up in the New York area, I was enamored with a variety of radio personalities and was inspired to pursue a career in radio. In time, that evolved into working in television, and technological advancements led me to the worlds of podcasting and streaming video.
How does art enrich a community, and what are some ways people can engage with art in Burbank?
Various art forms bring other viewpoints and experiences into our lives and help to influence the way that we look at the world. With so many media companies in and near Burbank, there is a tremendous concentration of creativity and artistic expression that only continues to make our community stronger. There are so many ways to get involved in artistic endeavors, from theater companies to art classes through the Parks & Rec Department and even how Cartoon Network artists used to illustrate their bags and hang them up on the wall at Which Which before it became Ike’s.
If you could share with our community one thing about art, what would it be?
Art is entirely subjective, and always remember that if you enjoy something, don’t worry about how anyone else feels about it. At the same time, there’s no reason to demean artistic expression that isn’t for you — whether it’s a musician you don’t enjoy listening to or a film you felt was poorly written, acted and directed, you should always know that it will bring SOME joy to SOMEONE, so let them celebrate it!
